Listeria monocytogenes Test

Method Description

The Detection and Isolation of L. monocytogenes using the Listeria monocytogenes (ELFA) Test and Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR) involves a dual approach for comprehensive analysis. The Enzyme-Linked Fluorescent Assay (ELFA) employs specific antibodies to detect L. monocytogenes antigens, producing a fluorescent signal. Simultaneously, qPCR amplifies and quantifies the bacterial DNA. This combined method provides both rapid detection and accurate quantification of L. monocytogenes, enhancing the sensitivity and reliability of results. It is particularly crucial for food safety, allowing for efficient identification, isolation, and appropriate management of L. monocytogenes contamination in diverse food samples, ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory standards.

Additional Information
VIDASListeria monocytogenes Xpress (LMX) is an enzyme immunoassay for the detection ofListeria monocytogenesantigens using the ELFA method (Enzyme Linked Fluorescent Assay). Note that a percentage of all raw commodities may contain an inherent low level of these organisms. PCR and ELFA Method Comparison – Which method should I choose? Both test methods will provide accurate results. See the table below for a high-level test comparison.
