USP <561> List
Method Description
USP <561> pesticide testing using liquid chromatography targets polar and thermally labile pesticides that cannot be analyzed by gas chromatography. This method complements GC analysis to provide comprehensive pesticide screening required by USP standards for pharmaceutical and supplement applications. Many modern pesticides require LC analysis due to their chemical properties and stability characteristics.

Modified USP <561> method. The following USP <561> analytes are not covered by the modified method: inorganic bromide (calculated as bromide ion), chlorpyriphos-methyl, dichlofluanid, dithiocarbamates (as CS₂), parathion-methyl/paraoxon-methyl and the other entries listed on the certificate of analysis. Results are reported per analyte in µg/g (ppm); totals (e.g. Total DDTs, Total Chlordanes) are calculated sums.
