Plant Pathogen - Pan-Pythium Test

Method Description

The Pan Pythium method utilizes real-time PCR to target the pathogen Pythium species detrimental to plant cultivation. The species that can be detected by this test include: P. aphanideratum, P. catenulatum, P. dissotocum, P. myriotylum, and P. ultimum. Pythium is an oomycete, often found in infected soil or water. Pythium can be a major problem in indoor cultivation settings where standing water or recirculating water systems are present. This pathogen is known to cause root browning and rot, vascular wilting, and stunting. Early screening of this pathogen is paramount and can quickly be accomplished through the Pan Pythium qPCR test.
